Allen Samuels was a Longtime Central Texas car dealer and benefactor Allen Samuels has died Friday in Fort Worth after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was known as the amiable star of commercials for Allen Samuels Chevrolet-Geo-Mercedes Benz, which maintained his name even after he sold the business to employees in the early 2000s. He also built a name as a reliable supporter of Waco causes, including youth sports activities, scouting, junior livestock shows and the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce. He was the largest buyer of animals raised by McLennan County youth in 4-H and FFA programs, according to the obituary.

Allen Samuels has died at the age of 86.


During his long career, he owned and operated 21 dealerships, 17 of which were in Texas, forming one of the largest privately-owned auto groups in the country. He also owned Allen Samuels House of Travel, Allen Samuels Realty, and Waco Regional Tennis & Fitness Center which is managed by Allen Samuels Sports.

Samuels entered the car business in 1963 and in 1982 moved to Waco to take a job as general manager of Steakley Chevrolet. A year later he purchased North Loop Dodge in Richland Hills and began to build his auto empire.

He supported youth activities ranging from soccer to scouting and was known to pay far beyond the market price for steers, hogs, lambs, goats, chickens, turkeys, and rabbits at youth livestock shows.

his wife’s name is Donna. He survived with his wife, Donna, and 9 children. During the annual McLennan County Junior Livestock Show Samuels and his wife, Donna, along with his dealerships, were consistently the largest buyers of animals raised by area 4-H and FFA students.

Death Cause

Allen Samuels died Friday in Fort Worth after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

“It was my honor to pay special tribute to my friends, Allen and Donna Samuels, at this year’s McLennan County Junior Livestock Show auction,” said Clayton Hall, who has played a leadership role in the auction.

Funeral services were pending Friday. The family requested those who wish to make memorials contribute to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

Net Worth

it was estimated to be between £1 million and £5m. The McLennan County Junior Livestock Show said that he has invested well over $1 million into their students. Because of this, he received honorary life membership in the 4-H Club.
