Bailey Quaife Wiki – Bailey Quaife Biography

Bailey Quaife was a young tradie and star footballer who tragically died after falling from a ute tray. Has been remembered as a ‘great kid.’

On Wednesday night, Quaife died in hospital after falling from the back of a ute being driven on Silbys Rd in Darnum, West Gippsland.


Bailey Quaife was 21 years old.

Incident Details

It is believed the electrician had been part of a group of five who had been at a party at a pub when one of them drove home.

It is believed one person may have been traveling on the bonnet of the ute, with two in the tray and another two inside the cabin.

Mr. Quaife is believed to have been standing in the tray before he fell out of the moving vehicle.

He was airlifted to hospital but later died from his injuries.

The fourth-year apprentice electrician celebrated his 21st birthday in October and passed his final exam to become a qualified electrical tradesman.


Mr. Quaife was also active in the Gippsland league community, seeing him receive an interleague honor in under-18s with the Warragul Gulls.

He was also a product of the Warragul Blues Junior program.

‘Everyone loved him. I can’t speak highly enough of him,’ Shane Ingham from the Warragul District Football Club told 7NEWS.

‘He was just a great kid, and then to have something like this happen was just a tragedy for his family. I can only imagine how they must be feeling.’

Police Report

Victoria Police set up a crime scene and arrested a female driver, and she was later released without charge.

Police have described the incident as ‘misadventure went wrong.’

‘It’s horrible, in all honesty, being two weeks out from Christmas,’ Detective Acting Sergeant Ben Oliver said.
