William Joseph Buckner was an American professional baseball first baseman. He played in Major League Baseball for 22 seasons. During his career, he performed for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, California Angels, and Kansas City Royals.

He was born on 14 December 1949 in Vallejo, California and he grew up in American Canyon, California. Joseph graduated from Napa High School in 1968 after taking part in on the school’s baseball and soccer teams.
