Dak Prescott (NLF)

Dak Prescott Wiki – Dak Prescott Biography

Dak Prescott is a quarterback in the US’s NFL, the top tier of American gridiron football. As the star player of the world’s most valuable sports franchise, the Dallas Cowboys, Prescott is one of the country’s most successful and popular sports personalities.

Collegiate Career

Dak Prescott currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys as a quarterback. The Cowboys are ranked first in their division, the NFC East. For his efforts so far in the 2021-22 season, Prescott is listed third as a favorite in regular-season NFL MVP betting odds alongside Josh Allen, Kyler Murray, and Justin Herbert.

Before Prescott became one of the league’s greatest quarterbacks, he played for the Mississippi State Bulldogs football program, which is part of the US’s NCAA collegiate sports system. With the Bulldogs, Prescott began as a backup before replacing the school’s veteran quarterback in his sophomore year.

Over the next three years, Prescott accumulated a variety of accolades. Notable examples include being named MVP of the 2013 Liberty Bowl, leading the Bulldogs to a No. 1 ranking and Orange Bowl appearance in 2014, and being named Manning Player of the Week five times. Prescott was also a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, the Davey O’Brien Award, the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, and the Wuerffel Trophy.

Professional Career

In 2016, Prescott entered the NFL Draft as a top prospect. He was offered a contract with the Dallas Cowboys where he would serve as a backup and understudy to fellow legend Tony Romo. During his first years, he competed against fellow rookie Jameill Showers to be named the Cowboys’ subsequent starting quarterback.

However, an early injury to Romo in 2016 left Prescott to inherit his role prematurely. Despite the challenges, Prescott rose to the occasion, earning himself a place on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Since then, Prescott has served as the Cowboys’ quarterback.

His original four-year contract was expanded in spring 2020 for another year. This took place after plenty of back-and-forth behind closed doors, which was further complicated by Prescott’s season-ending injury early in the 2020 season.

Prescott’s ankle injury required multiple surgeries and months spent in physical rehabilitation, meaning that he missed every game following his Week 5 injury. Regardless, the Cowboys decided to re-up their contract with Prescott once again in spring 2021. At this time, Prescott signed a four-year contract worth $160 million and including a record-breaking $66 million bonus. He has a net worth of $40 million.

Recently, Prescott led the Cowboys to a win against the Giants nearly one year after his ankle injury. Now that he’s back in action, NFL pundits are closely following Prescott and the Cowboys to see if they could make a Super Bowl run for a championship title. The Cowboys haven’t won a championship title since 1996.
