Jacinda Barclay was an Australian athlete. She played Australian rules in the AFLW for the Greater Western Sydney Giants and had a sporting background in baseball and American football. She made 23 appearances for the Giants over four seasons, represented Australia as a pitcher in the Women’s Baseball World Cup five times.
She also played as a quarterback for the Chicago Bliss in the Legends Football League in the United States, winning a championship in her debut season. She joined the Giants from the UNSW-ES Bulldogs as the 65th pick in the 2016 AFLW draft. Barclay had previously been placed on the inactive list (still a GWS player, but unavailable for selection) for the 2021 season.
In baseball, Barclay was a pitcher for the Australian baseball team. She was playing state baseball at the age of 15 and made her World Cup debut aged 17 for the 2008 World Cup in Japan. She won a silver and two bronze medals across five World Cups between 2008 and 2016.
Jacinda Barclay was born on February 18, 1991, in Chidlow, Perth, Australia. She died on 12 October 2020. She was 29 years old.

Barclay grew up in Chidlow, Western Australia, and attended La Salle College. She began playing Australian rules football at age 12, before deciding to focus on baseball as a teenager.
In 2016, she was working in the professional diving industry as an assistant life support technician and had aspirations to become a sports psychologist. Barclay died on 12 October 2020.

A friend on Instagram account ‘dollzynbabydoll’, opened up on Jacinda Barclay’s mental health in an emotional Instagram post. The friend wrote in part: “Mental health can get the better of all of us on certain days. It ain’t weak to speak. The last time I asked Cinda if she was ok she said “all good in the hood.” Let Cinda’s passing open up our eyes to the importance of putting up your hand and asking for more support when life gets too much.”
