Kionna Braxton, a Taxes girl who was missing on Thursday. The San Antonio area was alerted Braxton was missing.
In a press release, Honey Grove police Chief Leigh Dixon said that Braxton was found over 100 miles from her hometown Thursday morning.
Dixon said Honey Grove police were assisted by the Arlington Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the FBI in the search that found Kionna safe in Arlington, about a two-hour drive south of Honey Grove. A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with kidnapping.
The name and relationship of the man were not disclosed in a news release. MySA reached out to Dixon for more information.

Kionna’s mother, Amanda Taylor, was in Arlington with her family when Kionna was found. Taylor initially reported Kionna missing to the Honey Grove Police Department on June 14 when she came home from work around midnight, and her daughter was not there.
Honey Grove police and Taylor reported her missing to the National Missing and Exploited Children Center, and DPS activated the Amber Alert on the evening of June 15. San Antonio locals received the same Amber Alert.
An Amber Alert was issued in the San Antonio area Thursday morning, June 16, for a 13-year-old girl missing from Honey, Texas, since June 14. According to the Amber Alert, the Honey Grove Police Department believes the girl, Kionna Braxton, is in “grave or immediate danger,” according to the Amber Alert.
Kionna is described as a Black teenage girl who is 4 feet, 11 inches tall, and 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. However, police say she was last seen with blond and brown braids. She was last known to be wearing an orange and white cheerleading outfit with blue, orange, and red Crocs.
The Amber Alert says that Kionna is missing because she was abducted but did not provide any information on a vehicle or a person who was last with her. MySA reached out to the Honey Grove Police Department for comment.
Honey Grove is a small town with a population of 1,715 people, according to 2020 data from U.S. Census Bureau. The city is west of Paris, Texas, and about 30 minutes from the Red River, which marks the border between Texas and Oklahoma. It is described as the “Sweetest Town in Texas,” according to its website.
Authorities say a missing 13-year-old from Texas has been found safe.
According to the Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, an Amber Alert was issued for Kionna Braxton Thursday.
They had reported she was last seen on June 14 in Honey Grove, Texas.
