Pedro was a famous Mexican wrestler through the 1970s to the 1990s. His son, Perro Aguayo Jr. who died on March 21st, 2015 was also a professional wrestler.

Pedro Aguayo Professional Wrestling career
Aguayo was synonymous with the Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) as one of its top heels and one of the top heels lucha libre overall. In the 90s, he helped found Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, later known simply as AAA.
While in AAA, he feuded with Konnan and Cien Caras which proved to be one of the most successful programs in terms of box office receipts. He stayed with AAA until 2000 making an appearance on WWF’s Royal Rumble in 1997 in a match that featured lucha libre legends like El Canek, Mil Máscaras and up and comers who would later make names for themselves like Héctor Garza and Heavy Metal. He came to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre to feud with Los Capos.
Aguayo was successful in taking the hair of Cien Caras and Máscara Año 2000, he, however, lost his slated retirement match against Universo 2000. He remained in retirement until his son began feuding with Los Capos as well. Cien Caras claimed he could not retire until his business with Aguayo was finished so a double hair vs. hair match was set with Perro Aguayo and Perro Aguayo Jr. taking on Cien Caras and Máscara Año 2000. The Aguayos were successful and Perro Aguayo returned to retirement and Cien Caras went into semi-retirement.
Aguayo was inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame on August 5, 2012, at Triplemanía XX.
Pedro Aguayo Family, Wife (Luz Ramírez) & Son
Pedro Aguayo was married to Luz Ramírez. Together, they had a son, Perro Aguayo Jr, a Mexican professional wrestler who died after a botched move during a match with a former WWE superstar n March 21st, 2015. Perro Aguayo Jr. was 35 years old as at the time of his death.
Prior to his death, Perro Aguayo Jr. wrestled in a tag team match involving former WWE champion Rey Mysterio Jr. With the match over, various personnel went to Aguayo, believing he was just unconscious and in need of medical help. Officials later brought Aguayo out of the ring. When paramedics arrived, Aguayo was brought to the local Del Prado hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 1:00 am on March 21st.

Pedro Aguayo Cause of Death
Perro Aguayo passed away on July 3rd, 2019 at the age of 73-years-old. Perros del Mal announced Pedro Aguayo’s passing Wednesday evening via Facebook.
AAA confirmed the unfortunate news not long after and Lucha Libre CMLL commented on the wrestling legend’s death, calling him “one of the greatest figures of this sport.”
