Rob Mendez Bio
Rob Mendez (Age 31) is a legendary football coach, he has no arms and legs. currently, Rob is the head coach of the junior varsity football team at Saratoga High School.
He delivered a speech that will inspire everyone who hears it when he received the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at Wednesday night’s ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.
In July 2019, he was honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the 2019 ESPY Awards Wednesday night.
Rob, said while accepting the award, named in honor of late North Carolina State basketball coach Jim Valvano, who died from cancer in 1993.
If there’s any message I want to give you guys tonight, it’s to look at me and see how much passion I put into coaching and how far it’s gotten me,

Mendez was honored for his tenacity and determination at the 2019 ESPY Awards on Wednesday. He accepted the Jimmy V award for perseverance at the Los Angeles ceremony.
“It is an honor to be here tonight,” said Rob, before thanking his parents, his students and more influential people in his life. “I also want to thank the game of football for all it has given me, for allowing me to be apart of a team. … The reality is, I am here and if there’s any message I want to give you guys tonight, is to look at me … when you dedicate yourself to something … and focus on what you can do instead of what you can’t do, you really can go places in this world.”
“I’m not done yet,” promised Mendez. “I made it this far, who says I can’t go further? Who says I can’t? Nobody.”
