There were multiple reports of a shooting taking place at Cumberland Mall in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 14. Multiple users on Twitter described police being on the scene and the shopping center shutting down its stores.

At 2 pm local time, Cobb County police tweeted that it was not the shooter’s activity, but rather a separate incident. Written, “* There is no moving shooter at the Cumberland Mall * We are continuing to collect information but this is not an active shooter event. It looks like it was an isolated incident. Once we get more information So we’ll update.

In a video shared online, it sounds like multiple rounds of gunfire were shot off while shoppers scrambled for safety.

The Cumberland shopping mall in the Cumberland district of Metropolitan Atlanta near the suburbs of Smyrna and Vinings. It’s located at 2860 Cumberland Mall. Cobb County Police are reported to be at the mall. Roads in the surrounding area have been closed down.

While waiting for an official report to see if anyone was injured, online users reported chaos eruptions, with many saying they were hiding in stores.

On Facebook, users online that geotagged themselves at Cumberland Mall shared updates. One person shared, “Please pray for me and my family, we are stuck in Cumberland Mall there has been a shoot out here – people have been shot.”

Another person wrote on Facebook, “We were at the Cumberland Mall in Georgia … and the mall was shooting. Everyone started running. I separated from Freda. I was like, oh my god, Where is my baby. Scared. In shock. I ran into a store. She was not behind me. I was screaming calling her. The mall is closed. We are closed in the shops.
