Stephen Edward Blaire was known for as an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He was the fifth Bishop of Stockton from 1999 until 23, January 2018.


Stephen Blaire was born on 22 December 1941 and died on 18 June 2019. He has died at the age of 77. Stephen Blaire was born in Los Angeles, California the twelfth of 14 children.

He attended local Catholic faculties in the San Fernando Valley. in 1959 He graduated from Our Lady Queen of Angels Seminary high school.

Blaire then entered St. John’s Seminary College in Camarillo. He used to be ordained to the priesthood by using James Cardinal McIntyre on April 29, 1967, and then served as associate pastor of St. Luke’s Church in Temple City until 1972.

He had a first-rate zeal for helping those in need, the obituary reads. He was passionate in merchandising the dignity of human existence and ensuring social justice for all.

He constantly assisted the church in speaking out for the rights of immigrants, those in need of health care, inner-city education and tons more.

Pope John Paul II appointed Blaire as the Bishop of Stockton on January 19, 1999. He served the diocese for 19 years until he retired on January 23, 2018. Blaire used to be succeeded by way of Bishop Myron J. Cotta and served as Bishop Emeritus.

Blaire used to be associate pastor at St. Luke’s Church in Temple City and in 1972 started 14 years of ministry as a trainer and administrator at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, then as vice foremost and later most important at Bishop Amat High School in La Puente.
